Timothy Grieve-Carlson is a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Religion at Rice University, where his research focuses on religion and ecology in American history. Timothy holds graduate certificates from the Center for Critical and Cultural Theory, the Center for Teaching Excellence, and for the study of Gnosticism, Esotericism and Mysticism in the Department of Religion at Rice. His doctoral work explores the role of environmental knowledge and miraculous phenomena in the apocalyptic discourses of early Pennsylvania.
